Every Hosting Account Comes with a Control Panel
Buy web hosting and you get a control panel: a dashboard in your browser for running every part of your hosting, from email accounts and files to databases and SSL certificates. So what is DirectAdmin? It is the control panel SiteBoma uses.
How DirectAdmin Compares with cPanel
- DirectAdmin: quick, modern and cheaper to run. Many good Kenyan hosts use it, SiteBoma among them, and it covers everything cPanel does for less.
- cPanel: the best-known control panel and very widely used, but costly, especially since its big price increase in 2019.
Tasks You Can Handle in DirectAdmin
- Add free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates
- Set up and manage email accounts
- Install WordPress in one click through Softaculous
- Upload and organise site files with the File Manager
- Run your MySQL databases
- Check site statistics and error logs
- Add subdomains and parked domains
- Create and manage FTP accounts
- Schedule automated tasks with cron jobs
Will You Find It Hard?
Unlikely. The interface is clean and easy to follow, and most Kenyan site owners are comfortable with it within an hour. SiteBoma has video guides too, and our support team in Nairobi will happily take you through any task.
