Moving to a bigger or smaller hosting plan

Switch between SiteBoma hosting tiers whenever you need to. You only pay the difference for what is left of the billing period, and your site stays online.

Plans can be switched whenever you like from the client dashboard. Any price difference is prorated for you, based on how many days are left in the current billing cycle.

Moving up a plan

  1. Log in to the client dashboard.
  2. Pick your active service, then click "Upgrade Plan".
  3. Choose a new plan, look over the prorated amount and pay by card or M-Pesa.
  4. The new plan is active a few minutes later. There is no downtime and no migration.

Moving down a plan

Follow the same flow and select a lower plan. Before you do: usage above the lower plan's limits has to be cleared first. For example, 12 GB in use will not fit a 10 GB plan. If this affects you, the upgrade screen tells you.

When upgrading is worth it

  • Your disk use has passed 80% of the plan limit.
  • Traffic spikes bring up "resource limit exceeded" errors.
  • You plan to add another site and it will not fit your current plan.
  • You want LiteSpeed cache acceleration (part of Business tier and higher).

Switching to VPS or Managed WordPress

VPS and Managed WordPress sit on separate infrastructure, so leaving shared hosting for either one needs a full migration. There is no charge for it. Our team coordinates the move, which takes a few hours.
