Hospital and Clinic Website Hosting for Every Size of Practice

Patients look for a hospital, clinic, nursing home, laboratory or dental practice at 10pm and decide within seconds whether to trust it. We host your website and email, and your clinical systems stay apart from them, which is where they should be.

For health facilities large and small

Shaped around how health facilities really operate

From a small rural clinic to a big private hospital, every facility wants its website to do three things: be easy to find, look credible, and save the front desk from answering one question all day long. Everything else is detail.

  • Dispensaries, clinics and hospitals
  • Maternity and nursing homes
  • Imaging centres and medical labs
  • Dentists, opticians and physiotherapists
  • Chemists and pharmacies
  • Consultants in private specialist practice
Appointment requests
A form that lands with reception, next to a WhatsApp link.
HTTPS on every page
A free certificate covers the whole site and renews itself.
Practitioner profiles
Consultants, their specialities and clinic days, simple to keep up to date.
Email on your domain
Addresses like reception@, records@ and accounts@, plus one for each consultant.

The questions patients ask, in the order they ask them

A clinic's front desk hears these all day long. When the website answers them, the phone rings less often.

Are you open right now?
Your opening hours, and whether you have 24 hour casualty or an on-call number.
Can you help with my problem?
Your services and specialities in everyday language, rather than a list of department names.
Is my insurance accepted?
The insurers and schemes you work with, set out clearly. Patients with cover want to know this before almost anything else.
Which doctor will I see?
Practitioners by name, with their speciality and clinic days. People check the person, not the institution.
How do I find you?
A map, a landmark and how to get there by public transport. Outside the big towns, a map pin alone does not get people there.
How do I make an appointment?
A single clear way to book, shown again at the foot of every page.
How much will it be?
Even a rough range for consultation fees cuts down on no-shows and calls that go nowhere.
Are you legitimate?
Your registration details, the year you opened and photographs of your real premises instead of stock images.

Patient data and the rules that apply

The data protection rules you follow depend on where your facility is. Because SiteBoma is a Kenyan company, we work under Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019, which treats health status as sensitive personal data. That Act expects organisations that process sensitive personal data, health care providers among them, to register with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner, even if they are below the thresholds that would normally exempt a small business.

Here is how the responsibility divides. Registration, consent, retention and the way your staff handle records belong to you, and you deal with your own data protection regulator about them. Hosting is the technical layer beneath all that: data encrypted in transit, secure mailboxes, controlled access and backups. Paying for hosting does not make a facility compliant, and we will never claim that it does.

It is also worth being clear that HIPAA is United States law. A clinic in Kenya is not covered by it, and we do not market hosting as "HIPAA compliant". A vendor offering that label to a clinic outside the US is either repeating American marketing or counting on you not checking.

The plan we suggest for health facilities

It has space for photos of your premises, practitioner profiles and forms to download, and you can move up or down a plan at any time.

Where our job starts and stops

What we do
  • Host your site and email on your own domain
  • Register and look after domains, Kenya's .co.ke and .or.ke among them
  • Migrate your current site free, without downtime
  • Configure M-Pesa so patients in Kenya pay from their phones
  • Keep free SSL and daily backups running
  • Build the website for you, if you prefer
What we do not do
  • Provide or host an electronic medical records system
  • Hold or process your clinical records
  • Register you with a data protection regulator or certify that you comply
  • Send claims to insurers
  • Give medical or legal advice
  • Advertise a certification we do not have

Our servers are in the United Kingdom, and instead of quoting a number we publish live status at siteboma.com/status.

Questions from health facilities

Start with what patients search for first: your services or specialities, the consultants and practitioners who work with you, opening hours, contact details and how to book. Then add what prevents phone calls, such as the insurers and schemes you accept, visiting hours and a map with directions. None of it is unusual web content, and one shared hosting plan handles it all comfortably.

No, and we want to be clear on this. We host websites and email. We do not provide, operate or store an electronic medical records system, and clinical records do not belong on your website. Keep any EMR or hospital management system apart from your public site. We will gladly host the public website that links to it.

It depends on which country you operate in, and meeting its rules is your responsibility. To give one example, SiteBoma is a Kenyan company, and under Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019 health status is sensitive personal data, so facilities in Kenya that process it must register with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner whatever their size. You register with a regulator directly, and a hosting company cannot do that for you. What we provide is the technical side: HTTPS across the site, encrypted email, access control and daily backups.

Yes. Facilities usually begin with a simple request form that emails reception, often next to a WhatsApp link, since that is what many patients prefer. Calendar booking that shows open slots is possible through WordPress plugins and works well on our plans. Use the form first and add full booking once you can see the demand.

Yes, by M-Pesa, if your patients are in Kenya. We integrate Lipa na M-Pesa so that patients pay on their phones and the receipt comes to you. That suits consultation fees, appointment deposits and pharmacy orders. Because it is not a claims system, it does not take the place of your insurer billing.

Private hospitals, clinics, labs and dental practices usually go with a .com or their own country's extension, while .org fits a non-profit such as a mission hospital or a health NGO. The Kenyan equivalents, .co.ke and .or.ke, are managed by KENIC, and we register and host them as well. Check with us before you buy if you are unsure which one applies.

Yes. Mailboxes on your own domain come with every plan, so you can have reception@, records@ and accounts@ plus a personal address for each consultant. People find a hospital address on its own domain more credible than a personal Gmail, and it keeps your correspondence with insurers and referring doctors together.

Yes, and the migration is free because our team handles it. Give us the existing login details and we transfer the files, database and mailboxes, then point the domain at us when you say so. The site remains available the whole time. If your present site no longer loads or its hosting has lapsed, mention it when you contact us so we can plan for it.

Our starting shared plan is $0.62 a month ($6.15 a year), and .com is $13.31 to register and $13.31 a year to renew. Because of the photos and documents involved, most clinics are comfortable on the mid plan shown below. Payment is by card or M-Pesa, with no setup fee.
