Free migration of your website to SiteBoma

On any paid plan, we move your site for you. This is exactly what we will ask you for.

Every paid SiteBoma hosting plan comes with free website migration. To do the move cleanly, this is what we need.

What we need from you

  1. Login details for your current host's control panel (cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk or a custom panel): the username and password. Once the migration is finished we change that password, and you then change it again yourself.
  2. The domain name you are moving.
  3. Your go-ahead for switching DNS, which normally comes straight after we have checked the new site on a temporary URL.

What we take care of

  1. Copying every file (HTML, PHP, images, uploads) from the old host.
  2. Exporting your databases (MySQL/MariaDB) and importing them on SiteBoma.
  3. Setting up your email accounts on the new server.
  4. Testing the site on a temporary preview link before your domain is moved over.
  5. Updating DNS to point your domain at SiteBoma, once you confirm everything works.
  6. Watching the site for 48 hours afterwards, and moving email across mid-flight if that is needed.

How long it takes

A typical WordPress or static site: 4 to 12 hours from when you send us the login details. Big WooCommerce stores and multi-site installations: 24 to 48 hours.

Will my site go down?

No, there is zero downtime. We move the site, test it and only then switch DNS, so it carries on running at the old host right up to the moment the new one takes over.
